[Not so much volunteered to this specifically as much as he accidentally got himself involved due to his inexplicable habit of wanting to help people without asking what it is they need first. He thought encouraging others to help aid the country that opened up its borders to them by volunteering himself for required tasks would be a good idea, and would keep morale going for all those who, like himself, have just recovered for Violet 2710.
